The sea is not just a natural boundary or a tourist destination: it is a fragile, complex ecosystem that is fundamental to our survival.
It is from this awareness that the following was born \n \n M.A.RE -Marine Adventure for Research & Education.<\/strong>\n <\/mark>\n<\/span>, the project promoted by the Caprera Sailing Center Foundation<\/strong> with the scientific support of One Ocean Foundation<\/strong>, which from 2021 will sail the Mediterranean Sea to collect environmental data, raise awareness in communities and train new, more conscious generations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The year 2025 marked the conclusion of the first four-year cycle of the project-a true scientific, educational and organizational undertaking, which enabled for the first time the comprehensive mapping of the health status of the Mediterranean Sea.

But what does it really mean to participate in M.A.R.E.?

Experiencing the sea<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

When I boarded Catamaran One, I didn’t know exactly what to expect.<\/p>

I had read about the amazing results of the project, the miles traveled, the samples collected. But to experience it from the inside is something else entirely. <\/p>

The first moments on board were about orientation: there are no superfluous comforts, but there is something more valuable-the space to observe, to listen, to learn.<\/strong><\/p>

I participated in the collection of surface water samples. It sounds simple: you drop a special bottle, follow the instructions, label. But behind every gesture is attention, precision, rigor. <\/p>

Each sample collected tells something about the sea: the presence of microplastics, pollutants, and organisms that are invisible but vital to the ecosystem.<\/p>

The researchers patiently explained to me the meaning of each operation, the value of each piece of data.<\/p>

I touched on the work that normally remains behind the scenes of a scientific report: the hard work, the dedication, the contagious enthusiasm.<\/p>

Most importantly, I had an intense human experience.<\/strong><\/p>

A temporary community is created on board, where everyone contributes and learns. One works together, eats together, faces rough seas, nights at anchor, silent sunrises. And in all this, a very strong bond is created with the sea – and with those who defend it every day. <\/p>

Back on land, I bring with me a new sense of responsibility.<\/strong><\/p>

I know that every gesture, no matter how small, can have an impact.<\/p>

I know that WORKNESS CLUB has chosen to be part of something authentic and transformative.<\/strong><\/p>

And I know that the future of the sea also depends on me. On us. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
