Art curator Maria Savarese will introduce the conversation between Mimmo Calopresti, award-winning director and 2025 Silver Ribbon winner for Cinema of the Real, and film critic Francesco Della Calce.
After meetings with Peppe Lanzetta and Lello Arena, WORKNESS CLUB continues its journey of cultural and human exploration: an invitation to slow down, listen and be inspired by those who turn reality into storytelling.
Born in Polistena and raised in Turin, Mimmo Calopresti is among the most authentic voices of contemporary Italian cinema.
With films such as The Word Love Exists, Happiness Costs Nothing and I Prefer the Sound of the Sea, he has been able to delicately portray the soul of a country, moving naturally between fiction and reality.
In his documentaries he explores social and cultural themes, from working-class Turin to the Calabria of passions, returning a cinema that observes and welcomes, capable of transforming everyday life into a universal narrative.
Today he is artistic director of Nuovo Cinema Aquila in Pigneto, a landmark for art house cinema.
Talking with him will be Francesco Della Calce, critic and journalist, contributor to Il Mattino and LEFT.
Curator of reviews and exhibitions dedicated to the great protagonists of Italian cinema, including Gian Maria Volonté 30 and CLAUDIA. The strength of a voice , will take the audience on a journey between memory, vision and storytelling.
