The cycle of cultural encounters of OTHER SIZE GALLERY by WORKNESS CLUB continues with an extraordinary new event. After the great success of the evenings with Peppe Lanzetta, Lello Arena, Mimmo Calopresti and Giovanni Esposito, Friday, April 17, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., the protagonist will be guitarist and composer Antonio Onorato.
The evening will be moderated by film critic Francesco Della Calce, who will lead the audience on an unprecedented journey through the life and career of an artist who has rightfully entered the history of the Italian guitar.
Antonio will talk about himself without filters, hinting at unpublished suggestions about the very personal research on Improvisational Music that combines Jazz and Blues not only through canonical scales but also and especially through Neapolitan ones: “Neapolitan Culture is always in flux, the so-called work in progress. We will talk about Neapolitan instrumental music.” The talented artist will tell his story with his usual generosity, from his first chords played as a child in Aquilonia to his formative years among the jazz and rock clubs of Naples; from his legendary meeting with Pino Daniele-who apostrophized him with a simple yet dazzling “Si gruoss” – all the way to nights onstage at New York’s Blue Note and tours to the farthest countries. Anecdotes, behind-the-scenes stories and never-before-seen moments of an over-30-year career that has spanned continents and musical genres without ever losing its deeply Neapolitan identity.
What to expect from this evening
There will be no shortage of space to talk about his collaborations with Franco Cerri, Toninho Horta, Gerald Cannon, Enrico Rava, James Senese and many other giants of international music, nor to reveal curiosities about his most revolutionary instrument: the breath guitar, the wind guitar of which Onorato is the only performer in the world.
The evening will be more than just words. Antonio Onorato will perform live, giving the audience a performance that promises to be a rare and unforgettable moment: the guitar – in its various forms, including the famous breath guitar – will be the absolute star of an evening that combines culture, emotion and beauty.
